Firefighting and more

The members of local 2086 have realized that there is much more to the "Job" than structural firefighting. We have many members who have dedicated their time and effort to educate and prepare themselves for the often but sometimes overlooked aspects of our mission. Not only that, but often the public we serve doesn't understand the tasks which our calling encompasses. Many of our brothers and sisters have taken on the extra commitment to insure that we are prepared to mitigate any emergency we may be faced with.

With this being said, they have not only taken the time to inform the public we serve with the educational pages that follow, but have mentally and physically prepared themselves to perform in a professional manner no matter what the situation dictates. Many hours have been spent preparing our equipment and themselves by forming special teams and preparing a formulated tasks to serve in the most professional manner. We are not any different than most of our nation-wide brothers and sisters. We have formed many special teams which deal with elements such as fire prevention, wildland mitigation, water rescue (both swift water and dive), hazardous material incidents, technical rescues, etc. Please take the time to view all of these areas and learn more about what your Local 2086 does to provide better service to the citizens which it serves.
